Lost - I'm on a roll today

So I posted my idea about the others on the abc boards and one of the replies got me thinking about 1974.

Radzinsky might have been the first of the Dharma folk infected which made him a little crazy, and was the reason that he wanted to have the Swan built, in the outside area. With Dharma folks going in and out of the secure area there is no telling how many might have come into contact with Smokey out there and how many of them might have been infected. It's my thought that the others let the Dharma folks stay on the island because 1) they had greater numbers, and 2) because as long as they stayed in their area it was ok, Smokey couldn't get them. And 3) Some of the others might have been candidates.

So say a bunch of Dharma get infected by venturing out beyond the fence, the others are then forced to eliminate the problem with a PURGE. And who do you get to do the purging, a young candidate by the name of Ben Linus, you know that he isn't infected.

And presto, you have Dharma wiped out at the hands of the others in an effort to protect the island from Smokey. I'm on fire today!!!
